MOCORP, Inc. is a growing custom metal fabrication and welding shop centrally located in Ramsey, MN. We are in the business of servicing the retail fixture, architectural, packaging, food and dairy industries. We specialize in the production of a variety of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, brass and aluminum.

Our state-of-the-art equipment along with our knowledgeable, dedicated personnel allows us to be the supplier of choice for custom metal needs.

  • TIG Welder

    We are seeking experienced GTAW / TIG welders to join our company. This position consists of the welding of metal components and assemblies using various techniques. You will operate welding machines in a productive and safe manner to produce parts that meet company quality requirements in a timely manner while minimizing waste of materials and resources. Ability to create high quality finishes of stainless steel required.

    Essential Functions

    • GTAW/TIG welding experience in both carbon and stainless steel, specializing in 16ga and thinner.
    • Ability to select appropriate filler metal to match to base metal for welding process.
    • Perform various different wire-feed welding processes including FCAW, GMAW and GMAW- S/MIG welding process on both carbon and stainless steel.
    • Operate power grinders/tools, drill press, belt sander, tapping table and other miscellaneous hand tools.
    • Advanced blueprint reading skills, including first and third angle projection, the ability to interpret and manufacture to drawing specifications, customer requirements and work order direction.
    • Operate forklift and understand its safe working limits.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Ability to read and accurately use measuring tools including tape measure, caliper, micrometer in both imperial (inch) and metric units.
    • Ability to identify parts by part number, measurements, material grade, etc.
    • Ability to weld within tight tolerances.
    • Well versed in understanding welding symbols.
    • Basic math skills: read and write mixed numbers in both decimal and fractional form.
    • Knowledge and ability to perform metal polishing/finishing to various different surface finishes and/or sanitary grind.
    • Ability to give work instruction and communicate effectively with others.
    • Ability to work 40+ hours per week.
    • Show a positive and eager to learn attitude with strong work ethic.

  • Press Brake Setup Operator / Metal Fabricator
    We are seeking an experienced press brake setup operator / metal fabricator to join our company. The position consists of forming sheet metal components using press brakes and rolling machines. You will perform complex setups, develop methods to achieve the desired outcome, and operate various tonnage press brakes and rollers in a productive and safe manner to produce parts that meet company and customer quality requirements. The position also requires the selection of the appropriate die for the part, force parameters, determining bend allowances, and programming controllers.

    Essential Functions 

    • Develop part layout and plan the sequence of operations, applying knowledge of trigonometry, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage and physical properties of various metals.
    • Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters and drill presses.
    • Design and construct templates and fixtures.
    • Verify conformance of workpiece to specifications using square, ruler and measuring tape.
    • May fabricate and assemble sheet metal products.
    • May set up and operate machine tools associated with fabricating shops, such as radial drill press, end mill and edge plane.

     Qualification and Skills

    • Minimum of high school diploma; associates’ or technical school degree preferred .
    • Dexterity: Metal fabricators work with their hands, whether directly manipulating components or using controls on an assembly machine;
    • Math: Basic math including trigonometry is needed due to the technological needs of the job; 
    • Mechanical/Technical Skills: Need to be able to read and understand blueprints, manuals, or other schematics, and work with computers, machines and programmable controllers.
    • Knowledge of quality control.
    • Ability and desire to work 40+ hours per week as required.
    • Show a positive and eager-to-learn attitude with a strong work ethic.

  • SolidWorks Designer / Drafter

    We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer / Drafter skilled in SolidWorks 2D and 3D. The position requires working with project managers and estimators to prepare high quality documentation for manufacturing based on customer designs. This includes drawings, saw cut lists, Radan laser files, and material requirements.

    Essential Functions

    • Create shop drawings for flat and tubular metal parts from customer blueprints and drawings.
    • Submit drawings for customer approval and review comments and suggestions with customer, project manager, and manufacturing.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks 2-D and 3-D.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office—Outlook, Excel, Word.
    • Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes such as welding, grinding, laser, water jet, brake press, rolling, sawing, etc.
    • Extreme detail orientation to assure high quality documentation.
    • Ability to work 40+ hours per week
    • Show a positive and eager to learn attitude with strong work ethic
